Dynas looked him over, then nodded. "You can walk 'n' talk, good enough fer me." He said, slinging his bag and his coat over his shoulder and nudging the door open. Even at this hour there was noise from downstairs, drowning out the singing of birds from outside.
The bar contained a few people, mostly looking as just woken up as Dynas and STark did, aside from one who was clearly drunk already, or had perhaps just never become sober and another who was ranting about the 'damned giant black lizard in the goddamn courtyard did anyone else see that?'. The Rider felt a faint strand of amusement from his dragon, who was busy cleaning his claws and generally grooming himself ready for the day.

Stark nodded, picking up the rest of his own belongings and following Dynas out of the room and back down the stairs....Ah yes early morning drunks...Great. At least his flying companion had sobered up, oh god he hoped he wasn't a morning drinker. The horror. Cold air followed him all the way down the stairs as he thought about that, and then the thought of spending another day stuck on top of a giant lizard that he was sure could make a good go at swallowing him whole. He sighed as they sat down, fine old mess he'd found himself in, he only hoped it would be worth it. That this 'Sarrah' could actually help him...The guy had seemed a bit on the uncertain side.

Dynas, to his credit, only had one drink. And it was something decent this time, not the drain-clearing filth he'd been drinking last night. Just enough to tide him over. Breakfast was a hearty selection of bacon, eggs, something mysterious that was probably related to potato and meat sausage. What meat, it wasn't clear, but it was greasy and delicious and just what the doctor ordered for a full day in the air. He tucked in heartily, clearing his plate in a matter of minutes and settling back with a satisfied sigh while he waited for STark to finish.
Before they left, he ambled up to the bar and paid their tab, since even a Rider couldn't get away with staying for free. And besides, that would kind of defeat the object of being a supposed arbiter of justice and fairness.

Stark was not sure he'd seen a greasier meal in his life, but then he was also used to hunting his own food, cooking his own food. Just what the hell even was on his plate that's what he wanted to know....Or maybe not. Well it didn't taste bad so he supposed that was a plus, he was more dubious about his ability to keep it down all day. His reluctance probably showed, but he did eat it all, he'd been famished by the time they landed the day before, and he was sure it would be so again when they landed again in the evening. As Dynas paid, he paid a trip to the bathroom, and picked up his things when he came back. He put his traveling cloak on as they went outside.

Dynas slung his coat on with a profane remark about the cold, and Bane greeted them with a friendly rumble, putting his nose down so Dynas could scratch him affectionately, like one might with a favourite horse rather than a thirty foot long hellbeast. "Apparently it's warmer at night here than it is where we found ya, so he's pretty happy." Dynas told Stark, passing on the comment from his dragon. "Hop on up, he's ready when you are."

Stark watched the exchange, and he had to admit it was a little bit endearing. "Well that follows, I was most of the way up a mountain, heading as far north I could possibly get," Stark said a little matter of factly. The atmosphere up there alone accounted for a lot of the cold, freezing temperatures. He'd be surprised if it wasn't a bit warmer where they were now, even if there was still snow all over the place. He frowned but got ready to get back up into Bane's saddle. He strapped himself in, and as he did he was already regretting eating all of that food for breakfast. He was feeling nauseous already. Hopefully it wouldn't become a problem.

Bane would try to make the flight smooth, and Dynas gave him a final pat on the snout before hopping up behind Stark and strapping himself on as Bane got slowly to his feet. "We're gonna have ta walk a little way before he can take off, ain't any room here." he explained as the dragon set off down the street, off towards the edge of town. "At least, not without climbin' on the roof 'n' they might complain baout that a bit."

Stark kind of wished Dynas had said that sooner. He would have preferred to walk down the street, instead of getting up on the dragon right away. His legs were already complaining, he'd forgotten how sore they had been the night before, now that he was strapped in, his muscles were happy to remind him. Great another whole day of this. "I wish you had said that sooner." God his legs could do with some actual walking. It wasn't exactly the smoothest ride as the dragon walked through town, and Stark was sure he could feel people staring at them, though he tried not to think about it...Or much at all really. He was trying to convince his stomach to behave itself. He didn't think he'd be sick but...He was sure neither his companions would appreciate it much if he was...Especially Bane.

It wouldn't be the first time he'd been puked on, but the long-suffering dragon preferred not to think aboiut that. "This way's faster." Dynas assured him, and soon enough they were out on the edge and the dragon broke into a run before throwing himself into the sky all over again with a lurch. Dynas fond himself grabbing STark around the waist at the slightly unsteady takeoff, and felt an apology from his dragon as he smoothed out.

It might have been faster, but Stark was sure the other way would have been more comfortable...For him at least. His hands gripped the edge of the saddle when the dragon broke into a run, the unsteady take off making his stomach lurch. He also went tense when Dynas grabbed him, well more tense...If that was even possible. He wasn't used to being touched much, so unless he was expecting it, it tended to make him uncomfortable, even if he could rationalise that it had been for his own safety. As the ride smoothed out, he was reluctant to pull one of his hands away from his mouth. He'd slapped it there the very moment he thought he really was going to be sick. He really didn't want to be sick while they were in the air...Most of it would get all over himself for a start.

Dynas took a moment to realise what he'd done, then let go slowly, moving carefully so he wouldn't startle him again. "Sorry bout that. Makes some people feel a bit more secure up here." He sat back a bit, putting space between them so Stark wouldn't feel to crowded. "Don't bother me, course. Spent most of my life up here. Never fallen, not even once." At least, not accidentally. He'd jumped off a couple of times, to land on an enemy flying below and engage in exciting, death defying monster-back combat, but Bane threatened not to catch him if he ever did that again so he'd stopped doing it.

He felt Dynas slowly let go, and once he could feel some space between then his posture relaxed a little...Though only a little. Gradually he was able to grip the saddle with both hands again, though only once he was certain he wasn't going to chuck his guts up. He took a deep breath and swallowed hard, how did people eat tavern food regularly? That breakfast was doing horrible things to his stomach...Though maybe that was mostly down to pre-flight turbulence? It was a while before he actually responded to Dynas, every time he opened his mouth he felt more nauseous and had to close it again. "Well I suppose it's different if you;ve been doing it msot of your life..." Stark was still of the opinion he preferred his feet on solid ground.

"Yeah. And if yer mind-linked ta somethin' that's born ta do it. That helps too." Bane huffed in amusement, flapping his wings lazy and gliding off with a little burst of speed. It was going to be a long day, and probably kind of boring once his stomach settled down. "You'll get used to it, promise. And we've only got a coupla days a this anyway, then ya never gotta do it again. Unless ya want a lift somewhere. You got a family anywhere you'd wanna go back to?"

"Oh yippee," was Stark's sarcastic reply, two more days at least, of this nightmare. He supposed Dynas had a point, Stark himself wasn't sure how he felt about even the idea of sharing his head with another being. His head was turbulent enough without someone else in there. The temperature around Stark dropped almost the instant Dynas' question left his mouth. It was a pretty big 'no go' topic. After he killed that other kid, even though it was an accident, his mother had feared enough for him and what the villagers might do if he stayed, that she'd made his older brother take him to safety. It had been more than 10 years since he'd seen or heard from his family, but he doubted it would ever be safe for him to return to Lavine. Sometimes he wondered and feared for their safety, there was no way his mother had gone unpunished for letting a 'murderer' go. He shook his head.

He felt the chill, and decided to let it drop. "Sorry. Shouldn'ta asked." He muttered, leaning back on the saddle to give him the space. A lot of people he dealt with had family issues, people with a good support network tended to be a bit more stable and well-adjusted and a bit less murder and mayhem.
