It should have been easy...Simple even. In and out, just like the tide. However it had become complicated when The Grimm, a rival ship captained by a man known simply as "V" turned up to also claim the prize. V and his crew where men that Astrin had clashed with a number of times. The pair of captains traded insults and bullets over the supposed treasure, each losing a couple of men to the other. Matters were complicated further still when the whole thing had turned out to be a trap.
Both crews, that of the Grimm and of Astrin's The Heresy, were trapped on the island. As they fought off men from Ly'Ren's Royal Navy, Astrin was forced to watch his ship sunk just off the coast, taking the majority of his crew with it. The rest of his men on the island, and himself were soon subdued, along with Captain V and his own men.
The two pirate crews found themselves pressed into slavery, chained to those already being forced to row the ship from below. While Astrin and V were kept in separate cells in the brig. Astrin found himself chained against the wall, his hands above his head. A precaution taken because it was known from previous attempts to capture and subdue him that he was good at picking locks with surprisingly little.
He was stripped of his belongings, bar his semi open silk shirt and high waisted black trousers. Even his boots had been taken, and for good reason. He'd had a knife hidden in one of them. His long pale grey/blue hair was loose and in his face as he was leaning forward slightly. He wasn't moving much, and it would be easy for any man to assume he'd perhaps died, though if you watched closely enough it was clear that he was breathing.

Violet scolded himself for getting his crew into this situation. He knew it was a trap, they approached it as such, but when they saw Astrin’s ship going toward the prize, the possibly of losing out to his rival prompted Violet to engage. They had kept each other busy while unaware of the trap springing close. After they had surrendered, Violet had been roughed up quiet severely; the hatred the Ly’Ren Navy had for the Captain of the Grimm was evident by the bounty they had placed on his head. Violet had been a thorn in their side for years and now they had the chance get a taste of revenge, they had beaten him until a well place pistol grip had knocked him out. He wasn’t sure what had happened to his ship or all of his crew for that matter. But one thing was for sure, he squarely put the blame on Astrin.
The half demon prodded the busted bottom lip with his tongue as he sat leaned up against the cell wall, locked up tightly in the brig of the military ship. While Astrin was known for escaping, V had been rumored for his ruthlessness and the crew were taking no chances when it came to the half-demon. His arms had been shackled behind his back, while another collar shackle had been locked around his neck, a chain laced through the ships bars and attached to a prisoner’s ball.
He had been watching Astrin for sometime now, it was obvious to him that his rival wasn’t dead but he wasn’t quite sure what the man was playing at, if he was playing at all. He shifted his weight, his body ached but pain was something he could ignore. For now he was waiting for an opportunity to escape…when or if one ever presented itself.

Whatever game Astrin was playing, he kept it up all day, all night and well into the next day. Not even rousing for food or water. The guard sent to give them food and water, even went so far as to tip the cup of water over Astrin's head. He didn't so much as twitch, not even his ears. Either there really was something wrong with him, or he had unparalleled levels of self control. If V had been paying close attention, he may have been inclined to believe the later, as the corners of Astrin's lips had a slight uptick into the subtlest of smirks as the crew member walked away with a huff.
The captain of The Heresy responded to no calls, or attempts to talk to him, not even from V. It was well into the next day when the young boy, probably a newish recruit, who'd been sent to check on the pair almost hourly seemed to be growing more concerned by the hour. Every time he came, Astrin hadn't moved so much as an inch. If he was faking it he was very dedicated.
It was into the afternoon of the second day when the boy finally grew concerned enough to bring an officer with him.
"H-he's been like that for almost t-two days sir....."
The officer looked at Astrin and V with a look of contempt. He asked V what this was all about, but of course the other pirate captain could offer no answer. If there was a plan Astrin had not told it to him. When V was unable to give an answer the officer indicated for the boy to hand him a nearby broom, and he used it to poke and prod at Astrin through the bars, once at least hard enough to hurt. Even this didn't get a response from the feline captain.
There was no reason for Astrin to be so unresponsive. He hadn't been treated nearly as roughly as V so far. A sneer grew across the officer's face. He let himself into Astrin's cell, the young crewman looking at him with a mixture of confusion and concern.
"Well if you are really unconscious, then I suppose you won't have any complaints if I indulge a little." The man's tone had a twisted edge to it. He crouched between Astrin's legs. When his clear invasion of the pirate captain's space got no response, he pressed a hand to the man's crotch and began to palm him through his trousers, watching the captain closely for even the slightest twitch. He continued a little while longer before his hands tugged Astrin's shirt out of his trousers and slid up under that instead. Fondling his chest.
"Still no?"
The boy crewman hovered by the cell door, and looked like he wanted to say something, but didn't dare question an officer. Even if said officer appeared to be molesting an unconscious prisoner.

Violet had been largely ignored except for the few sailors that had come to get in their insults and hits. One had even cut off a lock of his hair as a souvenir, but V had remained silent and terrifyingly calm. Although he was grateful for not being strung up like Astrin had been, but due to his own restrains he was unable to stand up and the feeling was starting to go in his arms. It was the second day now and the other pirate captain hadn’t moved, although Violet was sure it was some kind of a ploy. The smirks hadn’t gone unnoticed.
He had been watching the Officer wondering when Astrin was going to spring back to life, but as the Officer became more personal with the pirate prisoner, Violet felt his stomach churn. Maybe Astrin wasn’t fooling around, perhaps there really was something wrong. Violet would never let anyone touch him in such way, he would have never even used it as a ploy.
“It’s pretty pathetic when the only way you can get your jolly is with an unconscious prisoner. If this was my ship you would have already lost a hand as a warning.” It was the first time Violet had said more than a single word answer since he had been captured. There was an exotic accent hanging on the way he pronounced some words, but it was unlike the usual Jhoura accent.

The officer only gave his attention to V for a moment. "Well good thing it's not your ship," he said with a sneer, before going back to his twisted amusement. Continuing to feel Astrin up under his shirt. Going as far as to twist Astrin's nipples, which did elicit a small groan from him, not little else. V may have noticed the end of Astrin's tail flick. Neither the Officer nor the boy seemed to notice the tail, but the groan caused the smirk on the Officer's face grew.
"So there is life in there," he joked cruelly, as he did it again. Yet still Astrin did not appear to wake. "Do you know V? That this man is called the whore of Pirates? Is it so bad to take from him what he freely gives to others?"
He didn't expect an answer, he didn't really want one either. He pulled his hands out of Astrin's shirt. Instead taking his chin in hand. "And he really is quite pretty to look at." Moments later he was pressing his lips against Astrin's, forcing them open as he kissed the captured Captain deeply. Passionately.
The officer was only brought back to reality by the sound of the young crewmen's uncomfortable shuffling, back at the door of the cell. Reluctantly the officer pulled away from Astrin, coughed as he straightened himself up and made to leave.
"He's not dead, and he doesn't appear to be faking.....If there's no change by the morning perhaps well send the doctor," he could be heard saying as he left the room.
It was a little while after the footsteps had died away that something finally happened. A loud, gross kind of snorting sound, followed by what was unmistakably the sound of someone spitting.
"Urgh....He tasted disgusting.......And he called that kissing!?" Astrin's voice finally after almost 2 days filled the room. His accent was a strange mix of different places, with a definite hint of Jhoura. He spat a couple more times.

V continued to stare at the officer through the bars, the scowl of his face almost a permanant feature, although he seemed a bit more irked by the Officers continued invasion. The stare continued even as the pair walked out, Violet’s red eyes flickering back to Astrin for some sign of life. He had just given up and closed his eyes when Astrin began to loudly protest his molestation. The half demon captain shook his head in disproval. Violets tail twitched with irritation the moment Astrid starting making a fuss and the shock and disgust was etched clearly across his otherwise stern young face.
“I know you have a reputation to maintain, but really?” The pirate captain was perplexed by Astrin’s behavior and with the guilty officer. “And I don’t understand why he would want to…you’ll give him much more than fleas.” V tossed an insult towards Astrin’s way, vexed by the other’s scheme. He would have lost it had the officer done that to him, it was more than just a quirk, physical contact with someone was absolutely terrifying. “Why would you let him do that?” Violet shook his head and shut his eyes again, shifting his weight in his seated position.

Astrin rolled his eyes, hard, at V's admonishments and insults.
"Oh Astrin are you okay? You didn't budge an inch for almost two whole days! Even when someone tipped water over your head. Your dedication to playing dead is absolutely astounding, and then being molested like that must have been deeply unpleasant!" Astrin said aloud in a mock version of V's voice.
"Why yes it was deeply unpleasant, but worry not, fore I am actually okay!" He continued. "All part....of the...Plan," he added.
If V had opened his eyes and paid attention, he would have seen that Astrin now had a thin bit of metal in his left hand, and was using it to fiddle with the lock on his cuff. After a little while and some frustrated cursing the lock popped open and Astrin made a noise of triumph as he used his now free hand to pick the lock of his other cuff.
Within minutes he was completely free, standing up to his full height and stretching and flexing. Soft groans escaping him as he worked the stiffness out of his muscles, and rubbed feeling back into his wrists.
"To answer your earlier question, I "let him do that," so that he would get close enough to me for me to steal something thin enough to use as a lock pick. Didn't actually expect that he would touch me like that....Or kiss me..." He made a disgusted face. The taste of the man was still on his lips. "Fortunately all naval officers insist on wearing those stupid wigs, and they have to keep them in place somehow so....I managed to pull this one out of his wig without him noticing, whilst he was busy shoving his tongue down my throat." He brandished the hair pin triumphantly, before then snaking his arm through the bars of his cell and then using it to pick the lock.
"It's not as if I haven't been subjected to worse, and besides it's more tolerable than the idea of willingly walking to the gallows and then being made to swing from my pretty neck until dead. Thank you very much," he said as there was a click of his cell door and it swung open.
"But if you prefer this filthy whore can just leave you there instead of getting us both out of this mess." It wasn't much of a threat, even Astrin didn't think he was enough by himself to take the whole ship.

Now it was Violets turn to roll his eyes as Astrin complained about V’s lack of empathy or awe of his acting skills; but Violet wasn’t the type to do so, instead he just let out a heavy huff of air. One of his eyes peeked a look at what Astrin was doing, watching him fiddle with the locks, popping each one with some finesse. “I haven’t had as much practice as you…then again this is my first time being caught. Honestly, I though they would have executed me on the spot.” Violet was now looking up at a freed Astrin from his shackled place on the floor. With his arms shackled behind him, and his neck bound in a collar and chained to the bars, Violet knew that Astrin was going to have to get close to him, the cell he was in was tiny barely big enough for someone to turn around in, and just long enough for the half demon to stretch his legs out.
“As long as I don’t have to kiss you or anyone else for that matter; yes, I’d rather not go to the gallows.” Violet agreed, his tail twitching with the anxiety of Astrin having to get close to free him from his restraints.

"As deplorable as officers of the Navy can be, they tend to be sticklers for rules and protocol. They will follow a due process. We would be taken back to their home country, in this instance Ly'Ren, given a not exactly fair trial....But we are both still exceptionally guilty men regardless, we would be likely found as such on all charges, true and false ones, and then sentenced to hang before a crowd of the civilian masses as they take some twisted entertainment from our deaths and the fact that it's not happening to them," Astrin explained patiently but with the air of someone who was bored, walking over to V's cell and working the lock.
Soon the door swung open, and just as Astrin was about to step inside the ship gave a strange lurch to the side. Astrin leaning in the direction it tipped to keep his balance. "Well....that is probably not good." His ears began to twitch, as if trying to detect some sound to clue him into to the sudden shift.
He smirked at V's comment about kissing. "Oh please...I may have a reputation, but I'm not that bad," he said with a little annoyance. He entered the cell, quickly closing in on V. At first he lent over the top of him, to try and suss out just what was going on with V's restraints. "Geeze they really do not like you do they?" He said as he shifted to a crouching position. He then further shifted do that he was on his knees, straddling either side of V's legs. The half-demon was treated to almost having a face full of greyish-blue, also most white wild hair, and fluffy ears as Astrin investigated the collar.
"Life your chin," he asked, leaning back a bit so he could s what he was doing as he fiddle with the lock. When that clicked open, he lent forward again, resting his chin on V's shoulder, and arms reaching around almost like he was hugging him so he could do the same to the cuffs on V's hands. Oblivious to any discomfort this was causing the other captain.

Violet’s tail twitched with anxiety, tapping the wooden planks below. With the ship lurching to the side like that, something must have happened…a rogue wave perhaps? He didn’t have the focus to stay distracted by the mystery as Astrin close in, first leaning over him; V tried not to feel intimidated knowing he was just looking at the restrains. His entire body tensed when Astrin straddled his legs, the soft fur brushing against his face, he only tensed up more, his breath hitched in his throat. And when Astrin told him to lift up his chin, it seemed like an impossible task. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust the other man, he knew the other captain would need his help to steal this vessel; but unresolved trauma had made it most difficult. He lifted his chin as he was asked and was rewarded by the clink of it unlocking. Now embraced by Astrin, he still had yet to take a breath. His hair was so soft-
“No They don’t like me.” He needed to distract himself or he’d be in a full panic haunted by a phantom pain. “I’m at the top of the Navy’s wanted list. I’ve cost them more money, more ships, and more men than the acts of Gods.” Violet wasn’t exaggerating, he had made it his personal mission to hit mainly Navy targets, his private war against Ly’Ren was something he had done for the past 4 years as a captain of his own ship.

Astrin did his best to pick the lock on V's cuffs, pressing his body even tighter to the other captain's. V might have noticed the faint sent of lavender clinging to Astrin, as he worked. After what for V might have felt like too long there was eventually the definite sound of a lock clicking and a triumphant "aha!" from Astrin.
The cat-man soon stood up, victorious smile across his face. "Well you must not like them much either, to be so single minded in your pursuit of their ships," Astrin commented as he dusted himself down and because to walk away. He left the cell and then began to sneak up the stairs, pressed to the wall. Something helped by his lack of shoes, as his bare feet made barely a sound.
He peaked carefully around the corner before waving for V to follow him, and then disappeared around the door frame. In the room above the pair would find their personal effects. By the time V made it up the stairs to join him, Astrin was pulling on his boots, followed by his belt, sword and sheath. He also had a weapon, another weapon, a compact cannon would have been the best way to describe it, a weapon of Jhoura unmistakably. Pistols were not common outside of the heretic nation.
What should have concerned both men was the lack of guard in this room. Surely someone should have been left behind just in case either of them escaped, or made a ruckus.

It was the softest thing Violet had ever felt against the side of his face and yet it still scared him. It brought back terrifying memories that still plagued him even a decade later; it had always been something soft followed by agnozing pain. But even as the faint smell of lavender soothed some of the fears as Astrin pressed even closer, working to remove the restrains around his wrists, his heart felt like it was going to stop until he was rescued by the sound of the lock popping open. He let out a sigh of relief when Astrin stood up and pirate regained his person space.
“I have my reasons.” Violet retorted to the statement about his preferred targets. Use the bars to help himself up, he let out a small groan stretching out his stiff back and shoulders. He followed Astrin although not as silently since Violets boots had never been confiscated. By the time he had made it up the stairs, Astrin was busy dressing and rearming himself. The half-demon stride seem to convey that he wasn’t feeling very rushed at the moment, picking through his things which mainly consisted of various types of throwing daggers, to a specialized set of fighting knives that he strapped around his left thigh. As deadly as he was rumored to be in close quarter combat, there was also his ability to wield fire magic; which it was said he has used to burned men alive with.
“I wonder what has everyone so preoccupied that they’d leave this unguarded.” Violet he joined the other Captain standing just across of him. Violets red eyes had to shift down ever so slightly to look at Astrin in the eye, the height difference ever so slight in his flat heeled boots. Although one of his horns were broken, the red spirals only added about 4 inches to his height. Wild white hair framed his young flawless naturally scornful face, a long earring that his mentor had given him as a gift dangling from his right ear.

Once rearmed, Astrin then pulled on his long coat, though his left his hat for the time being. His brow furrowed slightly as he had to look ever so slightly up to V. Even with 2 inch heels, he didn't quite catch up and it vexed him slightly.
"I might know what's going on.....You might not like it...." As he spoke, his ears were twitching and turning slightly. Clearly he could hear something that V couldn't. Beast-kin, particularly Felanis and Canis tended to have better hearing than most, and could pick up subtle or distant sound that most couldn't, even sounds that were not strictly audible to most other humanoid races.
"Let's have a look above deck," he said with a sly smile, leading the way with his fluffy tail swishing along behind him.
There were a few crewmen in the part of the ship they had to pass through on their way up, but there was something odd about them. They didn't seem to notice Astrin or V pass them by, and were milling about in a fashion that suggested they might be day dreaming. Charmed at the very least. It was an easy enough task to tie them up or lock them away somewhere. Less people to fight later Astrin said. He didn't see the point in killing people when they didn't have to.
Once they began to approach the deck, V would have been able to hear something that sounded like a song. Beautiful, soft melodic voices. Astrin paused on the stairs. "I hope you are strong of will." That was the only warning he gave before disappearing above. Though by now V might had had theories of his own as to what was going on.
The pirate had to shield his eyes from the bright sunlight at first, before slowly adjusting. He tutted to himself, his suspicions correct. The entire crew had gotten themselves ensnared by the beautiful songs of a pack of Sirens. He felt the pull himself, but was for the most part able to resist. He dashed to the side of the ship to take a look at where they were heading, turning back to the entrance that led below as V joined him on deck.
"If you can keep your wits about you, taking the ship might be easier than expected.....However we are heading towards that!" He explained urgently before pointing at a treacherous area of sea which was littered with sharp jagged rocks. They could even make out a couple of other wrecked hips. He then ran over to the helm, and rather easily wrestled it out of the control of the helmsman. He was quick to start altering their course, but once he did there was a terrible shriek from above, one his hands went up to his ear as he winced from the sound. A shadow flew over the sails.

Violet followed him topside making no promises to not harm the crew. He would have rather just pulled a blade across their necks and be done with it. However he went along with Astrin’s request of not murdering those they found entranced. By the time they had gotten to stairs that led to the deck, V could hear the Siren’s song and knew almost immediately. He had only one encounter with their kind before and luckily for him their song drew the military ship that had been chasing the Grimm to their death, while they escaped. Violet seemed unaffected by the enchanting song, his face staying pretty much in the scowl he was so famous for.
He followed Astrin to the helm, helping to move the helmsman out of the way. The shriek that came from above prompted Violet to draw his specialized knives from his thigh guard and looked up, squinting because of the sun.

Astrin, unlike V understood that not all of these men deserved to die. Some of them sure, but many were just sailors doing their job. Many trying to support families. Asrin might have been a pirate, but he wasn't a tyrant.
A number of Siren's began to circle above. Astrin tried to keep stock of where they were, but at the same time concentrating on steering them out of immediate danger. He could already tell it was going to be a close thing. As he made adjustments to get them back on a safe course, one of the circling sirens landed on the deck. A beautiful woman, her body partially wreathed in fine feathers, a pair of wings protruding from her back, feathered ears and hair long fine and golden. Her eyes the colour of the clear ocean. She opened her mouth and from it flowed a beautiful enchanting sound. A voice so beautiful it had enthralled countless mortal men and lead them to their death.
Astrin let out a gasp as he felt it's pull, and struggled to keep his agency. His ears flicked in irritation. His distraction lead to him being blindsided when the helmsmen barged into him to get him off the helm. He was soon struggling against the man for control of the ship.
"Get rid of her!" Astrin shouted to V as he drew his sword. He didn't want to have to kill this man, but he would if it meant saving himself, V and their captured crew men still in the bows of the ship. The steel of his sword clashed with the other man's.
