Like always, a new months supply of slaves had just been corralled into the jails located in the extensive catacombs underneath the elaborate mansion that Invidia 'Envy' Fascinare built himself just for this purpose. He had been in the slave trade business for quite some time. But as time went on Envy had a habit of going through them rather fast, either because he had broken them, or he had them punished for something he didn't like, both usually ended in death. Sometimes he just got so carried away that he forgot how fragile humans were.
The slaves were lead in single file, all chained together by metal collars around their neck. Some of the new slaves wept loudly in terror as they passed by fully visible torture chambers, some still holding fresh corpses bleeding from the wounds that had been inflicted upon them. The smell of blood, old and new ran vividly in the dark, dank catacomb illuminated by flames that seem to dance upon thin air.
From upon a throne in one of the open chambers, Envy sat in the shadows, watching them as they were paraded by, red eyes a glow in their stern judgment, golden horns that curled forward illuminating the blonde locks that would remind one of a lions mane. He was looking for something special, only a certain type would do. And Envy could tell by the way they walked, the way they carried themselves, that look in their eyes, which would hold out the longest.
After stopping the line in front of the throne, his guards stripped the slaves of their belongings, so the Incubus Master could look over his property more carefully to select. Riding crop in hand, he rose from a throne that appeared to be constructed out of human figures made of white marble. Envy went down the line as if he was inspecting animals, marking ones he didn't want by slathering a stroke of red paint across their chest with a wide bristle. The guards quickly whisked away those he marked. That is until he came to a dark haired beauty, with dark eyes and adorned by several piercings. Envy eyed the piercings, a sinister smile curling on the edge of white lips.
"And what's you're name?" His voice was cold as ice, his red eyes gleaming above the dark circles that hung around his eyes.

Things for Darcy had taken a trip from the bizarre to the down right terrifying. Sleeping rough had been and always would be dangerous, he always expected trouble, had been in a few fights...Nothing had prepared him from being snatched up off the street, only to be sold at some human auction, and then find himself part of a human chain. The smell of blood about the place hardly bothered him, it was hardly all that much worse than the smell of piss and shit that back alleys smelled of. What worried him was to potency....That was a lot of blood, and even he found himself looking away at the sight of fresh, mutilated corpses. Nothing prepared you for a sight like that.
The only thing stopping him from causing a scene at being stripped of his belongings, (which at this point was only the clothes on his back,) was the sheer gravity of the situation. He was sure it would take very little for him to end up the next victim, of whatever kind of fucked up circus this was. Still he found himself standing straighter than the rest, a show of pride and confidence that in this situation was going to make him stand out in the wrong way. He gave some very subtle glances around the place, looking for a way out if one was to be had.
Before he knew it, the man who'd been sitting on that throne, looking down at them like they were very much nothing, was in front of him asking his name. He couldn't quite process the man's appearance, because he didn't want to believe it was real and yet all his senses were telling him it was so. "Does it even matter?" The words fell from his mouth before he could even weigh up the consequences. He was someone who was far to used to being in trouble with the wrong people.
((Sorry this took literally forever....I kind of forgot about it OTL ))

”Dose it even matter?”
“No, I guess it doesn’t.” Envy smirked a pleased smile, smug in an aristocratic way. “This one - I like. Take the rest to auction.” The golden horn incubus made a swiping motion with his hand, his guards quickly ushered the rest away from Envy and Darcy.
The incubus made a little circle with his index finger and a thin delicate silver chain snaked it’s way from out of his sleeve, twisting around his severely pale hand as if it was a living creature. It floated back and forth like a snake ready to strike before it lashed out quickly and attached itself to Darcy’s piercing in on his lip.
“It’s enchanted. So don’t bother trying to remove it.” Envy chuckled, not warning Darcy that trying to remove it would give him a nasty shock. The thin chain was also unbreakable and had the ability to grow and shrink in length, whatever suited it’s castor. His red eyes quickly looked over Darcy naked body once again.
“Well, I’m famished….shall we eat?” Envy turned and began to walk away from Darcy, the thin chain grew longer as the incubus walked away towards a door hidden just behind the throne of marbleized human figures. He wanted to see if his new play thing would follow him, would the promise of food be enough or would Envy need to tug on the chain?

Well fuck, that was hardly the desired outcome, he hardly thought he could end up anywhere worse. He watched Envy's hand movement with confusion, taking a cautionary step back when the thin chain appeared. Magic was an entirely new phenomenon to Darcy, the actual existence of demons and magic wasn't a easy thing to wrap your head around. He watched the chain, leaning back before in lashed out and attached itself to the ring on his lip. That was going to hurt if tugged, and depending on how hard Envy tugged...Could even possibly get ripped out. He was hardly going to try and remove it for the same fear.
When food was mentioned, Darcy could hardly say he wasn't hungry. Sometimes he really had to spread out his meals in order to be able to afford to eat. Still he was weary, how could he not be? So he stayed exactly where he was, soon perturbed by the way the chain just kept going. In the end he started to follow, not wanting to find out how long it would take for Envy to tug on that chain.

Envy lead his naked guest through an endless maze of cramped hallways, sometimes through larger rooms and through obscure doors you wouldn’t have even known was there. Past servants and partial clothed slaves, all making room and diverting their eyes from their Master. There were few guards and even fewer guests. Envy was leading his new toy through his vast estate mansion, his personal quarters were no near where they processed the slaves and he wasted no time starting to play his twisted little games.
Another curious thing was the odd amount of life sized and detailed marble sculptures of people, some in beautiful poses holding vases of living flowers, others terror in their faces. But they littered the estate by the dozens.
“I can feel that you’re slightly confused as to what’s transpired this evening.” Envy could easily detect that, he was an Incubus after all. “Your friends sold you, we bought you. Yes, I have horns. Why, because I’m a demon. Yes, those exist along with every other dark thing you’ve ever heard of.” He explained as he went until the pair finally reached a large beautiful bedroom that was the size of a gigantic ballroom. There were several beds tucked away at different corners, in the middle of his room there was a large marble table minus chairs. Fresh fruits and breads laid out in baskets and plates with other tasty treats beaconed with savory goodness. There were couches, pillows, and lounging seats off to the side to allow for one to relax while they ate.
The Incubus lead his new slave to the table. “Please, help yourself.”

Reluctantly Darcy followed behind. At first he tried to remember all the twists and turns, in case he needed to find his way back out. However it quickly became an impossible task. He lsot count of how many corners they turned, and how many rooms they entered and exited, how many of them had obvious doors, and which ones had hidden ones. This guy lived in a god damn labyrinth, and he was sure, it was to stop people like him from being able to leave easily. Though it probably helped against intruders as well. He noticed that there seemed to be sparse amounts of guards, but a number of servants......And he assumed other slaves as well. Who the fuck even was this guy?
The choice in art decore didn't go unnoticed, it was all beautiful, but Darcy found all of it a little creepy, maybe because of his situation. ALl he knew was that it didn't sit well with him.
If the situation wasn't so tense, he probably would have rolled his eyes when Envy said he could sense his 'confusion,' who wouldn't be confused to find themselves where Darcy currently found himself. He wasn't too surprised to find out, it was his friends that had sold him into slavery, he could probably work out which ones without too much difficulty. But that was the problem when you lived on the streets, your friends tended not to turn out to be the best kind of people. However he wasn't sure he was quite ready to accept that demons existed, even with the evidence mounting up right in front of him.
He felt his stomach lurch with hunger when he saw the table all laid out like that, but his common sense told him that it probably wasn't that simple. "What's the catch?" He asked suspiciously. He would have been suspicious even if the situation was different. That's just the kind of person he was, and the kind of life he'd been living.

Envy seemed delighted in Darcy suspicious nature. "The food is complimentary." The Incubus jested snapping his fingers, the enchanted chain that had been attached to Darcy's lip ring now shattered into pieces and scattered about on the floor. There was no need to explain it, Envy obviously felt confident that if Darcy was to wander there would be no escape. The Mansion was like a labyrinth and there was the vast Estate lands the surrounded them.
The demon stepped forward to the table to retrieve a strawberry and biting into the fresh fruit and savored the taste. "Even after 2000 years, it's still my favorite." Envy didn't like to brag...that was a lie. He loved to brag, tooting his own horn was nearly as good as an orgy with his harem of succubus. There was a long glance at the human from the corner of his eyes before he promptly continued.
"I find the world a dull and lonely place," the Incubus started in, he knew what game he would play with this one that is, if his play thing was willing. "and because of that you find yourself with 2 options. Either you refused to play and I kill you in the slowest possible manner..." The blond hair demon threatened in an unusually cheery voice. "Or you play and not only get the chance to win your freedom back, but I'll grant you any wish you desire. Power, Fame, Wealth..." It's not that he could grant wishes, but he was powerful enough to pull strings and manipulate things to make it sure seem like he did.
Unknown to his Toy, Envy had already started the game. The slave right before Darcy - he had made to believe that he loved her, that is right up until the wedding vows were Envy just laughed at her confusion in front of a priest and a hall full of guests. He was down right rotten and didn't have the slightest care for his play things. In fact he didn't have the slightest care for much of anything that wasn't himself.
The demon ate the rest of the strawberry wondering what Darcy's response would be. It would only be after he agreed to play would Envy tell him the rules, if he agreed to play. There was always means of persuasion, such as the statues that were everywhere on the grounds. Envy had the power to turn living things into stone and return them back, a power he abused to no end.

It was difficult for Dacy to be anything but suspicious. A cautious nature was the first thing you picked up on the streets, though apparently he hadn't been cautious enough. Still trusted in the wrong people. Still he didn't make a move to touch or eat any of the food before him, not yet anyway, even when Envy began to try some of it for himself.
Whatever game this demon had in mind, Darcy was at least intelligent enough to realise, they were already playing. Saying 'no' just meant he'd 'lose' that much faster....Or lose slowly if you considered the promise of a slow death. He frowned and folded his arms. Really even without knowing the rules, it wasn't much of a real choice. Freedom or a slow death. It didn't take him long to consider his answer.
He unfolded his arms with an irritated sigh, "fine, I'll play. So what are the rules? Since you told me the goal for winning, and the price for lossing, you must have rules in mind already."

Envy acted as if he was delighted to hear the news. "That makes me very pleased. It's so boring playing with myself." Envy grinned at his phrasing. "The rules are simple really. I'm assuming you've played the game Simon Says as a child?" The Incubus asked fixing himself a plate of fruits and bite side delights. He didn't wait for Darcy to answer before he continued. "It's kind of like that. Except I'm Simon and you do what I say." He approached his new slave, picking a strawberry of the plate he had just made. "So when I say 'Simon Says take a bite of this strawberry.'," Envy held the strawberry just shy of Darcy's lips "then you have to bite this strawberry."
His red eyes gave a long gaze and his lushes pale lips parted in smile, the tips of fangs barely peeking out from behind. "You could however refuse to bite this tasty strawberry, to which I will give you a strike and a consequence. Receive three of those, you lose the game. " He was curious as to what his new play thing would do, holding the strawberry steady.

While Envy grinned at his own innuendo, Darcy merely rolled his eyes. Of course the demon found this amusing, he had nothing to lose. While Darcy both had everything to lose, and everything to gain. He couldn't say no, he couldn't back out, that wasn't a choice he was given. It was no real choice at all. He was sure that was just how Envy wanted it. Darcy watched the demon as he moved about and explained the rules of their 'game.' He scrutinised the strawberry in front of his face for a moment, as if making up his mind, before taking a bite of it and swallowing.
"So is it only when you say 'simon says' or am I obliged to do anything you command. And you haven't actually stated how I win this game of yours," Darcy asked, wondering if there was some sort of time limit. If there was no way to actually win, then all he was doing was playing for time. While he didn't want to face a slow death, he didn't want to be this creature's play thing for however long it took for him to get bored either.

Envy's smile brightened when Darcy decided to finally take a bite of the strawberry. "I'm so glad you ate the strawberry, would of been a waste of one of your passes." He popped what was left of the strawberry in his own mouth and spun away delighted in his new found entertainment. Of course everything was stacked into his favor, that's just how the Incubus liked it. Invidia 'Envy' Fascinare hadn't reached his 2000th birthday by playing fair.
"Only when I say Simon Says are you obligated to obey. But it would be in your best interested to play along with my little whims. Who knows, you might just enjoy yourself. And I might enjoy that." Again the demon went to the table and finished piling fruits, chocolates, and cheese on to his plate and tucked a bottle of wine under his arm.
"Simon Says follow me and I'll explain how you win this little game of mine." He said with another sly smile. It was time to take Darcy to his pride and joy, an ancient bath ruin. It's entrance was marked off the main bedroom as the 'Garden of Eden' in latin and although it was not the garden of creation, it would of certainly rivaled it. In a large 2 story cavern carved from solid granite was a warm springs that filled both man made pools and natural pools alike, it's steam creating it's own mystic atmosphere. The ceiling of the cavern was a beautiful stain glass that rained color in the space, painting the already vivid greens of plants with rainbows. A beautiful sanctuary that seemed forgotten in time, but furiously maintained. At it's center was what appeared to be a life sized sculpture of an angel, metal hooks through his stone wings to pull them outward for display, vines encroached up the sculptures bare legs, arms chained behind his back tightly and uncomfortably. A look of anguish, a silent cry caught just on the other side of his stone lips.
He set the platter of food and bottle of wine down next to one of the larger pools near the stone angel, and began to disrobe. "Please, enjoy, eat, and clean yourself up. You smell of the streets and I can hear your stomach rumbling, it's very distracting." Envy smiled as he finished stripping, his own skin pale as the stone statues that he liked to decorate with. His hot spring is where he liked to spend the majority of his time. There were a few other statues in the gardens, all beautiful with various emotions on their face. It's where he kept all his absolute favorites.
